Mission Market Manager 

The Mansfield Mission Center (MMC) is committed to supporting Mansfield ISD residents experiencing financial crisis and working with them towards long-term financial stability.  We do this through the organizational delivery of integrated wrap-around services to clients in three key areas: employment, income supports, and financial services.  Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Mission Market Manager is primarily responsible for managing the pantry and related food programs, that help meet dietary needs of our clients and serve as a client income support.  This is a salaried exempt position.  The following is a list of related job tasks; however, others may be assigned:

Client-centered Food Pantry Management (30%) 

  • Manage a client-centered, market-based approach to the food pantry program 

  • Monitor inventory for availability, quality, and usefulness to pantry participants 

  • Initiate food orders to area food banks and preferred vendors 

  • Provide clients with information on nutritional food preparation 

  • Provide client nutritional information and resource management  

Inventory Management and Logistics (30%) 

  • Coordinate volunteers to pick-up and shelve food orders, including weekly bakery donations 

  • Maintain inventory of pantry supplies 

  • Manage Tarrant Area Food Bank inspections of pantry, equipment, and related facilities 

  • Work closely with Director of Development to initiate and manage community drives 

  • Manage annual calendar for drives and coordinate volunteers to pick-up and shelve donations 

  • Manage the pet food program, including the storage and quality control of dog and cat food donations 

  • Coordinate pet food delivery dates and crate pick-ups with community partner 

Metrics Tracking and Reporting (15%) 

  • Track attendance and client outcomes for pantry, and related events 

  • Compile and submit client metric reports to Director of Programs monthly (or as needed) 

  • Utilize designated software such as Change Machine or ETO to track client outcomes 

  • Document all food pantry donations and record details provided database 

  • Work closely with Director of Development to produce donor reports 

Managing Relationships (10%) 

  • Build rapport with Mansfield Mission Center clients and volunteers 

  • Act as liaison between MMC and community health agencies 

  • Manage MMC partnership with Mansfield Farmers Market 

  • Manage MMC partnership with Don’t Forget to Feed Me 

  • Assist clients with SNAP benefits enrollment as needed 

  • Manage Pantry Partner Program with church partners 

  • Work closely with Common Ground Network pantry related programs 

Volunteer Management and Coordination (15%) 

  • Work closely with the MMC Volunteer Coordinator to maintain a pool of eligible Mission Market and donation pick-up volunteers 

  • Ensure adequate number of volunteers for food drives, partner pick-ups, and MMC food related events 

  • Assign appropriate tasks and ensure proper training of Mission Market volunteers 

The ideal candidate should possess the following professional qualifications and personal attributes: 

  • Ability to articulate and promote the MMC’s mission, vision, and values 

  • Passion for advocating on behalf of marginalized, high needs, low income clients 

  • Enthusiastic approach to work, including the humility and grace to work effectively with others in a collaborative workplace 

  • High degree of professionalism and the ability to maintain client confidentiality 

  • Demonstrates attention to detail and is self-motivated 

  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends 

  • Strong personal boundaries 

  • Must possess valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record 

Required Education & Experience 

  • High School Diploma or GED 

  • 2+ years relevant work experience in the desired position or similar 

  • 2+ years supervisory experience 

  • Prior employment in a non-profit or social services environment 

  • Experience working with homeless and/or low to moderate income families 

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Computer literate 

Preferred Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree 

  • Prior food pantry management experience 

  • Experience working with the Working Family Success (WFS) Model 

  • Prior experience with database management
